Zinc Roofing for Large Kitchen Extension
At the beginning of this project the client was able to send us the original architects drawings. We could see immediately that the project had been over designed, with an elaborately hipped flat roof and a parapet box gutter on all four sides. As the roof would not be seen from above by the client, it was clear that such an elaborate design would have no benefits for them.
We contact the client and advised that of course we could quote for the work as per the architects drawings, but we could simultaneously provide and quote for a solution which would not only provide a reduction in cost, but also mean that the roof would operate far more effectively. The client came back to us and advised they would like to accept our design solution and the cost savings it could provide for this zinc roofing project. Their choice was to have their zinc roof created in natural zinc. The new designed comprised of a zinc parapet box gutter, zinc flat roof and zinc parapet capping. In addition our design also provided zinc cladding to the adjoining wall of the tiled roof. (as shown in the photo below)
In this case the zinc roofing was created on a warm roof build up, supplied by the builder. As always, we had worked closely with the builders in this project to ensure that the correct metal roofing codes of practice were observed.
